Development Continues and Hello Lovely Volunteers!
Our latest Open Day took place on Saturday 31st August and what a hugely successful day it turned out to be. Showcasing many of the regular groups and activities already based at the Hall, the Open Day also attracted plenty of visitors to the café, the venue and featured our busiest volunteer meeting to date; it was great to be able to welcome so many new and existing volunteers.
Being awarded a substantial grant from the SITA Trust has meant we can begin a number of exciting Hall-related projects; a few plans were agreed during the meeting so we thought we’d share them with you.
Autumn Works
The Ballroom is looking splendid but the supporting areas are still in need of a facelift. Thanks to the SITA Trust works will soon begin on new male, female and accessible toilets to the rear of the stage and our café kitchen will finally be kitted-out to professional catering standards. Although we’ve managed admirably until now, the Hall really needs a formidable kitchen to be able to cope with hundreds of guests! It’s anticipated that the builders will arrive at the end of September and both projects will be completed by the end of 2013. We’ll keep you updated.
Additional Funding
The ECHO Committee has been working tirelessly to secure funding from various sources to help with the development of the Hall. Plans are afoot to complete the restoration of the main entrance stairs and carpet – exact dates to be confirmed. We’re also aiming to add to the Hall’s stock of chairs and tables to allow the Hall to be regularly used for receptions in the future.
Online Activity
We’re working on increasing our online visibility and you can now find us at @EcclesTownHall https://twitter.com/EcclesTownHall and www.facebook.com/TheEcclesTownHall Follow us, like us and join in, we’d love to hear from you!
We Need You
Craft fairs, exhibitions, concerts, rehearsals, performances, dance, indoor markets, educational classes, yoga, pilates, tai chi, weddings and parties, coffee mornings, film nights, informal and formal meetings are all perfect activities for the Hall and demand for the use of the venue continues to increase. The continued popularity of the venue is fantastic news and we’re hoping to host even more regular groups and events here in the coming months. But, to be able to do this we need even more people to help us! If you or anybody you may know is able to spare a small amount of time to support the events that take place in the Hall please contact enquiries.echo@gmail.com or call 07931 815 802. There are loads of opportunities to get involved. We’re a friendly bunch, fans of tea and cakes and we’d love to have as many people as possible alongside us during these really exciting times.
