Praise from The Lowry & Update
I want to share with you more good news about Eccles Town Hall.
First, you may know that we recently hosted the auditions for the forthcoming Matthew Bourne ballet Lord of the Flies.
I have just received this note from Sally Wyatt, who is the Youth Dance Coordinator for North West Dance / The Centre for Advanced Training based at The Lowry.
On behalf of the team at The Lowry and Re:Bourne I would like to express our gratitude to you and your team for the wonderful hospitality we received during the weekend of auditions for our production of Lord of the Flies. Everyone at Eccles Town Hall couldn’t have been more accommodating and so contributed to a very smooth running and pleasant two days for ourselves and for the young men auditioning.
Having such a positive experience has prompted us to enquire as to the possibility of further bookings with yourselves if this would be of interest to you.
Sally went on to propose dates in April and June; we are hopeful that we can accommodate them.
Secondly, the work funded by SITA is near to completion. The toilets are almost finished – including now a fully DDA compliant toilet (we originally thought that we hadn’t enough room for this on the ballroom level). Next weekend the electricity supply to the entire building will be shut down as a completely new supply is brought in to our kitchen. Then the floor will be renewed and commercial kitchen equipment installed.
And if you haven’t already seen it, do come in to our new bar! Actually, it looks like a carefully preserved and much loved old bar – and it has a great line in high quality beers as well as excellent coffee and cakes on a Saturday morning.
Best wishes,
David Yates
